Remedial Massage Therapy is a complementary therapy that aims to treat problems with muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile. The pressure applied in this healing treatment can either be strong and deep or gentle and shallow, depending on the problem. They will deeply penetrate muscles associated with the problem. Treatment can include stretches for different parts of the body. Remedial Massage Therapy may stimulate blood supply, make joints more mobile, and help to repair damaged tissues. The therapy will aim to balance the length, tone and tension of muscles and tendons, increase blood flow and help heal injuries and reduce pain levels. The massage uses pure massage oil or a blend in essential oils based on needs, combined with a variety of techniques and tools to assist with improving muscle issues. Craniosacral therapy and deep tissue massage fall into this category.
